Chopta Tungnath Trek

Chopta Tungnath trek is one of the best trekking options for the Hiking enthusiastic who want to get prepared for High Altitude Treks in the Himalayas, those who have not done any hiking in the lower Himalayas this trek should be the first one to start, There are two options to plan this hike.

Chopta Chandrashila Trek –  Via Sari Village Deoriya Tal 4 Nights 5 Days 

Deoria tal and Chaukhamba Group

For the Hikers who have more days to explore in their holiday plan and want to explore the surrounding Destinations like Deoriya Tal, Sari Village, Ropini Bhugiyal etc.

Day 1: Rishikesh to Sari Village (190 km drive, 6,562 ft / 2,000 m)

Drive from Rishikesh to Sari Village, covering a distance of 190 km. Sari, situated at an elevation of 6,562 ft (2,000 m), serves as the base for the Deoria tal. It’s a beautiful old traditional village.   .

Day 2: Sari Village to Deoria Tal (7 km, 7,811 ft / 2,381 m)

Trek from Sari Village to the beautiful Deoria Tal Lake via Ropni Bhugiyal, covering 7 km with an ascent of 1,249 ft (381 m). Enjoy the serene views and camp overnight by the lake.

Day 3: Deoria Tal to Baniya Kund (16 km, 8,521 ft / 2,597 m)

In the Early Morning Trek gradually moved towards Syalmi, descending approximately 190 ft (58 m). En route, visit Jhandi Top and follow the ridge trail to Van Devta Mandir. And Trek to Baniya Kund, covering around 10 km while ascending 921 ft (281 m). The route offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan Forest and snow peaks also a good leg adventures

Day 5: Baniya Kund to Chandrashila Summit (12,085 ft / 3,684 m) via Tungnath Temple – Descend to Chopta

Embark on the final and most challenging day of Chopta Tungnath trek. Ascend 3,564 ft (1,087 m) to reach the summit of Chandrashila via Tungnath Temple, the highest Shiva temple in the world. After enjoying the stunning panoramic views, descend to Chopta and rest.

Day 6: Chopta to Rishikesh (200 km)

Drive back from Chopta to Rishikesh, covering 200 km, marking the end of an unforgettable Himalayan adventure. Happy Ending

Guidelines – Trek Leader will thoroughly explain all guidelines before the Trek commences.
  • Alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited during the hike.
  • non-vegetarian food are not permitted in certain religious surroundings
  • Please refrain from playing loud music or shouting to maintain the serenity of the surroundings, 
  • It’s better to hear nature. 
  • No Pet allowed, 
  • Don’t Pick/Pluck anything.
