Nagtibba Trek (3023 meters)

Nagtibba Trek | A great 2 Nights/3 Days Experience

Nagtibba Trek

The Nagtibba trek derives its name from the Nag Devata Mandir (“Nag” meaning cobra), which represents the protector god of all the nearby villages. The temple is located at the base of Jhandi Top, at an elevation of 2,700 meters. Built by locals nearly two centuries ago, the current temple structure was reconstructed 15 years ago. The Nagtibba trek is a great experience for new hikers and one of the amazing short treks in the Lower Himalayas of the Tehri Garhwal region.

The temple area is surrounded by ancient Himalayan Brown Oak, Golden Oak, and Green Oak trees. A sacred pond in front of the temple is the only source of water in the area. Hikers are requested to keep this pond clean and use it carefully.

Nagtibba Trek

This is an ideal trek for beginners seeking a slightly challenging experience to upgrade their hiking skills and prepare for high-altitude treks in the Greater Himalayas. The sunrise view from Jhandi Top (3,023 meters) is breathtaking. The trek to the summit takes 1.5 to 2 hours and starts from the base camp early in the morning. Once you reach the top, you can witness the sun rising from the eastern corner of the Uttarakhand Garhwal Himalayas, right next to the Nanda Devi Peak.
